Coming from a combination of socio-anthropology and development studies, Gaïa Fisher specializes in conducting applied research in the field of international cooperation and humanitarian aid.
After conducting a 36-month ethnographic field study in Vanuatu (Western Pacific), she managed a sociological impact study as part of a feasibility study for the implementation of a reliable port infrastructure. Socio-sanitary studies followed, dealing with abandoned children in Mali and mental health in Mauritania.
For Action Against Hunger, she helped to understand the causes of malnutrition in the Kayes region of Mali and she participated to a capitalization study in Liberia on the integration of income-generating activities and psychosocial support in a post-Ebola context.
