by Action Against Hunger France (UNHCR/WFP)
The Link NCA in Bangladesh (the first methodological pilot study) took place in 2011 in the refugee camps of Kutupalong and Nayapara in the Cox Bazar district to understand the high rates of morbidity and malnutrition in children and adults . The prevalence of chronic malnutrition is found to be higher in Nayapara (NYP) than in Kutupalong (KTP). Analyzes of multivariate regressions indicate that inadequate food aid, inadequate supplemental feeding practices, poor psychosocial care, high morbidity due to diarrhea, low household income, and Poor hygiene practices are associated with malnutrition in children aged 6-59 months.
Alexandre Cornelius was the research analyst in charge of the study.
